Highlights

The capital city, Thimpu is a mixture of both tradition and modernity. here you can witness the majestic Buddha Dordenma statue. We will take you to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan. Dochula Pass, from where you will see breathtaking views of the Himalayas and 108 prayer stupas. Punakha Dzong, the country's most spectacular fortress, is located at the confluence of two rivers. Enjoy tea by the river at sunset. We will also explore to the Memorial Chorten, the Folk Heritage Museum and the vibrant Centenary Farmers Market. An experience you’ll cherish a guided meditation for mindfulness session, and Traditional hot stone bath by a local Monk. No visit is complete without visiting the mesmerizing Tasktsang Monastery also known as the Tiger's Nest. Perched dramatically on a cliffside 3,000 feet above the Paro Valley, this sacred site is not just a place of beauty, but of deep spiritual significance. This sacred site is a journey that is both challenging and extremely satisfying. At every step you are rewarded with captivating views and a calm whiff of peace an experience that stays with you long after the journey is over.

Itinerary

Welcome to Bhutan! Our team greets you at Paro airport with a traditional khadar (white scarf). You’ll take a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital. Check in to the beautiful Taj Tashi, where tradition meets luxury.

Spend your evening strolling around the local markets or sipping tea at the Clock Tower Square.

Your day starts with a visit to the Buddha Dordenma, one of the world’s largest Buddha statues, overlooking the valley. We’ll also take you to the Memorial Chorten, Folk Heritage Museum, and the lively Centenary Farmer’s Market.

Enjoy a farm-to-table Bhutanese lunch, and in the evening, a special blessing ceremony with a monk a moment of peace you'll carry home with you.

Overnight: Thimphu

Today, we head to Punakha, Bhutan’s former capital. The journey takes you through Dochula Pass, with breathtaking Himalayan views and 108 prayer stupas.

You’ll visit Punakha Dzong, the country’s most stunning fortress, set at the confluence of two rivers. As the sun sets, enjoy high tea by the riverside.

Overnight: Punakha

Start your morning with a short hike through rice paddies to the peaceful Khamsum Yulley Chorten. Later, we’ll set up a riverside picnic for you.

In the afternoon, join a local monk for a guided meditation or mindfulness session an experience you’ll cherish. If you like, you can end the day with a traditional hot stone bath in a local farmhouse.

Overnight: Punakha

On the way to Paro, stop by Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility, known for its vibrant history.

In Paro, check into the peaceful Uma Paro (or our Taj lodge if preferred). Explore the iconic Rinpung Dzong and National Museum, and in the evening, take part in a cooking session with a Bhutanese chef. You’ll love how simple and soulful their cuisine is.

Overnight: Uma Paro

This is the highlight of your trip a guided hike to the fabled Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger’s Nest, perched on a cliff 3,000 ft above the valley.

Take it slow, stop for tea at a mountain café, and enjoy a luxury picnic en route. When you return, unwind with a relaxing spa session or massage.

It’s time to say goodbye but Bhutan stays with you. After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll drop you to the airport with a special farewell gift from the Taj Heritage team.
